…Reasonable-Dream-Car-Post: Video-Edition

All can be had for 30-something k, one more semester … than I can start working and saving.

& because I'm American these have to be included.

The way I see it, if I do ever get something crazy like an Elise or Viper I could always keep the Crossfire for daily driving duty. We all have dreams right?

In my dream scenario where I make good financial decisions, I'm buying an Elise after I pay off the Sonic.

In actuality, I don't make good financial decisions and will likely trade in the Sonic in 2 years for something not as fun as an Elise.

I tell myself I'm going to get an Exige but when the time comes and I have $30k to drop on one car, there's going to be a battle in my mind - keep saving for an Exige or buy an Elise NOW? It's so close to an Exige... but it's not an Exige o_O

Z4's are beautiful cars. The newest generation is kinda meh, but that first generation like you posted... *drool*

Well, I'm limited to something practical unless I pick up a cheap truck, which I'm thinking of doing. I have a 15 pound RC plane, it won't fit in a sedan or coupe.

At some point I'll either get a cheap miata, or trade in for a nice sports car and get a cheap truck or wagon.

Thinking about exige vs elise at least for me, I've never driven anything even like them so I would have to assume that the performance gains the Exige gives you over an Elise wouldn't be easily discernible by me, or at last not worth the extra money.

But that is the perfect way to describe a Z4, there is just something those looks plus that engine …. *swoon*. Also I do like the newer Z4, but I dislike that BMW hasn't made a hardcore/M version.

Ah I see, so either a nice DD, and a cheap sports car. Or a nice sports car and something cheap and practical on the side.

That's a very good point... but sometimes lust lacks reason :o

Without having driven the two to compare, you're right that it may be tough to tell the performance gains but I think that once you do drive the two, you'd tell a considerable power difference - at least if you're comparing a NA Elise to a supercharged Exige S240 or 260.
Plus the Exige is the best looking car in the world. Sooooooo....
